Future Graduate Students

Are you interested in hurricanes or tornadoes?  Do you wonder how hurricanes become so powerful?  Would you like to help develop techniques that improve tornado forecasting?  If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then I have a great graduate degree opportunity for you!

I am currently looking for graduate students interested in the follow areas of research:

  • The 3-D structure and evolution of hurricanes

  • The improvement of tropical cyclone intensity forecasts

  • The improvement of tornado formation forecasts during land-falling tropical cyclones

  • A topic of interest to you regarding tropical meteorology or severe weather (let's talk)

  • A topic of interest to you regarding any meteorology in the Carolinas or southeast US (again, let's talk)

If you are interested, please contact me:  Dr. Matthew Eastin [mdeastin@uncc.edu or 704-687-5914]
