About: The G&ES Soils Lab is run by Dr. M.C. Eppes of the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at UNC Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The lab is employed by students for classwork and for research, by other faculty members throughout UNC Charlotte, and by external clients from Charlotte and beyond. The lab is equiped to handle a variety of basic soil and sediment analyses. Fees for analyses vary by analysis and are on a per sample basis (see below).. There are 4 primary rates depending on if the client is internal or external to UNC Charlotte, and if a worker in the Lab performs the analysis (Rate 1) or if the analysis is performed by the student/ facultymember/ client herself (Rate 2). You must be trained to do your own analyses in the lab. Traning to do your own work is $18/hour for internal and $22/hour for external, minimum 1 hour charge.

If you are interested in having samples run by the GES Soils lab, or if you have any questions concerning specific procedures followed in the G&ES Soils Lab, please contact Dr. Eppes (see above). Current rates are guaranteed through October 1, 2004.
