The meteorology classroom features state of the art meteorology software. The 19 workstations in this classroom are equipped with programs used at operational forecast centers, such as AWIPS. This software is used in classes such as synoptic meteorology, tropical meteorology, mesoscale meteorology, and weather forecasting. In addition to operational programs, analysis software such as MATLAB and Grads is installed on the workstations. These analysis packages allow for the investigation of model output, primarily in dynamic meteorology courses.
