PROFILE:
I am a broadly trained economic geographer with specific interests
in the intersections of regional economic development and the structure
of regional, national and global financial markets. My interest
in regional disparities in capital availability evolved from exploring
the increased significance of external finance as firms become increasingly
reliant on innovation, rapid product development, and knowledge
production. This line of work has been extended to include explorations
of financial industry impacts on modern urban form, particularly
in the Southern United States as well as the role of Southern culture
in regional financial systems. This research has been conducted
at scales ranging from the national to the neighborhood and has
been based on a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods.
