In our department, our undergraduate degrees which concern natural
Earth systems are: Earth Sciences, Geology and Meteorology.
Our Earth Sciences degrees are for students who are interested
in things like environmental sciences, streams and rivers, groundwater,
soil, erosion, and the oceans.
With a BA in Earth Sciences you might go on to teach K-12 science
courses, work for an environmental activist group like the Sierra
Club or practice environmental law.
With a BS in Earth Sciences you might consult for an environmental
firm or work for a government agency like Fish and Wildlife, DOT
or the Forestry division.
Requirements for these degrees include courses in things like
soil science, hydrology, and environmental sciences.
If you are interested in going on to graduate school in some type
of science after your degree, you should complete a B.S.
If you are interested in Earth Sciences, please talk with the Earth Sciences Undergraduate Coordinator Jake Armour.
